I read this Martin Luther King Jr. quote yesterday and had to pass it along.

“Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter.”

Perhaps in a slightly obscure way I find that the following quote also relates.

“Perhaps a lunatic was simply a minority of one. At one time it had been a sign of madness to believe that the Earth goes round the Sun; today, to believe the past is inalterable. He might be alone in holding that belief, and if alone, then a lunatic. But the thought of being a lunatic did not greatly trouble him; the horror was that he might also be wrong.” – George Orwell, 1984

I think it is very important to not get the “things that matter” wrong.  Even if the pervasive culture tries to tell me I’m a lunatic.  So be it.  I don’t mind being a lunatic and unless you can prove to me that I’m wrong I’m not shutting up.

When I first began this blog and using other social media platforms my general rule of thumb was that I would try to share my opinions only with my friends and family but I’m finding it more and more difficult separating my business persona with my real one.  Actually I think it’s a waste.  I do not operate this business solely as a way to generate income but rather it is an extension of me and a way to communicate how I see the world.  Therefore this is me giving you all a heads up.  It is quite likely that I will be putting myself out there a little more now and there’s a good chance that many of you will not agree with my strong opinions on issues.  I just thought I should give fair warning.

Also, no post is complete without an image since this is a photoblog after all.
